AMWAB responds swiftly to humanitarian crises, particularly for children and families who have lost their homes due to natural disasters or conflict. It goes beyond short-term relief by initiating long-term reconstruction projects that help communities return to normal life. These efforts include psychological support programs such as child-friendly spaces and group work to reduce trauma (including PTSD).
Given Bangladesh’s vulnerability to natural disasters, AMWAB’s role is crucial in providing relief and helping affected populations regain stability. With limited government support, AMWAB and its network have supported communities since the 1990s, utilizing resources such as Zakat, CSR funds, and other humanitarian aid to save lives.
The goal is aligned with the national Five-Year Plan, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSP).
Key objectives include helping disaster victims, addressing emergency needs, and enabling beneficiaries to regain resilience and begin income-generating activities. The process involves identifying beneficiaries, recruiting volunteers, preparing response plans, organizing logistics, and distributing aid.
