Dear Sir
Assalamu Alaikum.
I have the honor to state that Association of Mass Welfare Agencies in Bangladesh is a non-profit voluntary social development organization. Since its inception, it has been carrying out various social development activities all over the country. We have experience of undertaking various pro-poor socio-economic development projects and activities through conventional method and approaches of development. We have a wider scope and network all over the country to plan and execute those projects strictly remaining within the bounds of Sharia for spending the Zakat Fund. Our programs include but not limited to poverty eradication, health care services, education for poor, sponsoring income generating projects through Zakat. We are deeply committed to eradicate all kinds of poverty from the society using Zakat, Ushr, Quard-e Hasana and other sharia approved economic measures.

It is our religious and social obligation to help those who are not financially able to fulfill their basic needs. We are always guided by the directive of Al Qur’an while deciding the target people for spending our collection. These categories of people are defined in Surah At-tawbah (9) Verse no 60: “the alms are only for the poor and needy, and those who collect them and those whose hearts are to be reconciled and to free the captive and the debtors and for the cause of Allah, and (for) wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is well knower, wise” (Al Quran 9:60).
